First things first, HAPPY VALENTINES day to all! I know I have been belting out a few of these “foods for..” type posts, but this will be the last one for a little while. With today being Valentines Day and all, I couldn’t resist this one. “Foods to get you in the mood”.
The foods we consume can have direct impacts upon hormone levels, stress levels, brain chemistry and consequently affect your sex life! So before popping another Viagra, take a look at some delicious additions you can simply add to your diet.
8. ASPARAGUS
Asparagus is a great source of potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, vitamins A and C, and thiamin and folic acid. The latter is said to boost histamine production necessary for the ability to reach orgasm in both sexes.
7. ALMONDS
Through antiquity, almonds were regarded as fertility symbols. The poets and scribes deemed the aroma of almonds supposedly aroused passion in females. Almonds provide high doses of vitamin E, magnesium and even fiber.
6. AVOCADO
They say foods of nature affect the part of the body they appear to look like. Thus, just by looking at the shape of avocado, you will see the reason why it was associated with sexuality. The Aztecs called the avocado ahuacuatl, or “testicle tree.” They thought the fruit hanging in pairs on the tree resembled testicles. On the other side, avocado is rich with folic acid, vitamin B6 and potassium. They are also said to boost immune system. So to keep the resistance of a racehorse!
5. BANANAS
In all seriousness – by it shape its connection with sexuality is quite obvious. Bananas are loaded with potassium, magnesium and B vitamins. It also contains chelating minerals and the bromeliad enzyme, which are said to enhance the male libido.
4. BASIL
Basil not only makes the meals smell and taste better, but it also has a lot of beneficial effects on human body. Basil’s sweet aroma is said to have an aphrodisiac effect; it is also very stimulating.
3. CHOCOLATE – RAW CACAO
Well – there are no surprises here! I am forever praising chocolate for its plethora of health benefits. However not the cadbury type – although yes delicious. You will gain the increased benefits from pure chocolate in its raw form – CACAO. In the form of cacao powder, nibs or beans. Organic and raw cacao contains a host of compounds including anandamide, the psyochoactive feel-good chemical, and PEA (phenylethylamine), the “love chemical,” which releases dopamine in the pleasure centers of the brain and peaks during orgasm.
2. FIGS
This sexy fruit has long been thought of as an arousing stimulant, and an open fig is believed to emulate the female sex organs. Figs trace back to biblical times and are mentioned in the story of Adam and Eve, who wore fig leaves to cover their private parts. Figs are reported to be Cleopatra’s favorite fruit, and the ancient Greeks held them as sacred and associated them with love and fertility.
1. OYSTERS
We have all heard of this one. The ol’ oysters and french champagne trick-a-roo! Works wonders in seduction, because of their high zinc content, which helps produce sperm and increases male and female libido.
So there you have it, this Valentines Day be sure to spoil your significant other with a meal that combines at least one of these fabulous foods. If you manage to incorporate all 8 throughout the day, I would love to hear how you do so – that is seriously impressive!
